Where do I start…..AWESOME!
What a fantastic day it was for MX Training Events at Motoland UK, Mildenhall on Tuesday 28th May 2013. The first MX training day this year. There are many motocross training days throughout the country, but none quite like this.
Darren (Flo-Rida) organised an event last year for a group of friends and local riders. This gave him the idea to set up an event that not only was fun, but with the addition of motocross training. He's not the kind of guy to do things by halves! He wanted to create events that would give riders valuable rider training that was not only informative and fun, but with fantastic value for money.
I was asked to provide the photography for his event last year and it wasn’t long before he had plans for MX Training Events and he wanted the best of everything!
Not only did the plans actually become a reality, but he pulled together some of the top professional riders to join the training team. Carl Nunn, Chris Bastick and Neville Bradshaw were booked in during the early stages. Elliott Banks-Browne and Lewis Tombs soon became part of the team and the event was shaping up to be something very special.
I feel privileged to provide the photography for MX Training Events and it has been such a pleasure to work with an amazing team. Events like this don’t happen without the professionalism and passion from everyone involved.
We had FTR Suspension, IRP Decals, Jim Aim Motorcycles, Action Wheels and catering all onsite to provide help, advice and sustenance for all the riders.
So the day got underway at 8am with a rider sign in, followed by a portrait shoot with the pro’s. It was an early start for me, especially after 3 hours sleep, but I kept on schedule with 60 portraits in 30 minutes! Big thanks to Chris, Neville, Lewis, Carl and Elliott for not blinking!
After a rider briefing and track walk, the training soon got underway. With the track split up, the riders had time with each trainer on a variety of technical sections. With Training throughout the day as well as time for free practise, it’s safe to say everyone had plenty of track time.
The weather across the country was a bit on the wet side, but for the most part, Mildenhall stayed dry. They are rain drops in the images by the way, not a dirty lens ;-)
The day finished off with a pro demo followed by questions, photo signing, raffle and goodie bags for all the riders! The raffle raised a fantastic £263.00 for East of England Air Ambulance.
The Toofast Media Group was on site providing the videography. I hope to have some footage up on here as soon as the guys have it ready.
